Hauraki Express fuel boat powered by Gull

Midnight Oil underway with her 10,000 Litre Gull Diesel tank onboard

There has been a new addition to Auckland's Commercial/Charter fleet. Owned and operated by Hauraki Express, the recently delivered Midnight Oil is a one of a kind fuel boat. She is a 12 meter Cat built by Legacy Marine. which is Extreme Boats' commercial and larger boats division in Whakatane. Midnight Oil holds 10,000 L of diesel, which is supplied by Gull. She can be re-fuelled by Gull tanker or direct from the Gull Orakei Marina.

Midnight Oil solves the problem of getting fuel in some of the marinas. Another obvious benefit with the Americas cup coming, is that yachts will be able to fuel up while at anchor, alleviating the need to come into port for fuel. With a cruising speed of 16 knots she won’t take long to get to get to the assigned Superyacht anchorage’s around the Hauraki Gulf.
